Some Maya/Sylar News from Wizard World Con
The Sylar and Maya stuff is at the bottom of the page. The rest of this is the Heroes Panel at Wizard World
It seems sometime Sat. morning Jeph, Milo and Tim were dragged before NBC/Universal Stroomtroopers and Lawyers and warned that they were VERBOTEN!! FORBIDDEN!! to reveal ANYTHING about "Villians"
A friend of mine overheard them fretting together over what they were going to talk about at the Panel billed as a discussion about "Villians".
Jeph: There will be announcements about "Villians" in the next few weeks. All I can say is that the next season will blow your mind!
Me: How many weeks?
Jeph: I can't tell you.
(March 18 the Soundtrack Album comes out. Maybe will here somethings then. Maybe.)
So what did they talk about? Talk mainly turned to discussions of the last two seasons. Thankfully, people, on the whole behaved themselves and it did not turn into the Inquisition I was fearing. We will see how Comic-Con goes.
The following is dependent on my aging and unreliable memory:
Well, first, Milo pointed out the very real pair of Stormtroopers at the back of the auditorium.
Milo: They're making me nervous.
Jeph: That's because they have real weapons. See that one's NBC, the other's Universal.
GirlFan: I really liked how each character was defined a profession, Peter, a nurse, Nathan, a politian, Niki, a stripper--
Jeph:--Niki was a stripper?! Where was I?!
GirlFan: In the second season this got kind of lost--only Parkman continued to have a job he continued from the first season. I was wondering if you were going to get back to that in "Villians".
Jeph: We were kinda faced with, with our characters. How are ya gonna keep 'em down on the farm after what they've been through. Now that they know of each other. How do you get them back to their normal lives. So we had Peter, for instance, lose his memory and his job was to get it back.
(The problem as noted by this questioner is essentially that the characters lose their grounding in reality if they don't have jobs and responsibilities they have to deal and we can relate to.)
A very young girl, about 5 or 6, asked almost ready to cry:
Child: Did your brother really die? (meaning Nathan)
Milo: We don't know yet. I really hope not. It would be a great loss to me and Peter.
Jeph: It would be a great loss to the show. It would mean not just losing Nathan but Adrian Pasdar.
Me: (To Milo) Do you feel Peter at some point will mentor other 'Specials'
Milo: I feel he could definitely end up doing that but right now he's saved the world--TWICE! And he is still dealing with controlling all the powers he's absorbed. This may confuse him and lead him...
Milo was implying Peter may go down a dark path before returning to the the light. Whether he may join with Sylar or Adam or neither.
(There is a fan story out there somewhere of Sylar and Adam joining forces to defeat Peter and Save the World. I know there's also many a Sylar/Peter team up as well. You never know...As unlikely as it seems.)
Right now, this all I can remember. I meant to bring my video camera but forgot. Sorry. Next time.
I recommend you guys periodically googling the following: Wizard World Los Angeles 2008 Heroes panel youtube or check the Wizard World site.
Because there was videotaping and it should be posted soon.
Update kinda spoilers:
Sylar News: He should be in the first episode of "Villians" and as long as Zach remains uncommitted, there will be much more of Sylar this season.
I asked Jeph which is more powerful Sylar's TK or Maya's Black Tears. He said that we might not yet know the extent of Maya's powers. And that the "Black Tears" are the symptoms, not the power themselves. It implies that maybe she will be getting even more control of her powers and that they might change.
Also when I asked if Sylar and Maya would throwdown or something. He answered "...Or something."
Which I take as meaning they may not actually confront each other one on one. She may simply use her powers and he may not even know she's there.
OR
They may not fight at all.
The Spoilers from the December VerneFilmFest Video may or may not appear in the fall showEverything may be re filmed or redone. Its up in the air. If you go to Comic-Con this year. You're more likely to get more information about what might happen.
